SUPER HERO is hitting US theaters August 19

The Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero movie has international release dates for August. Crunchyroll, the current owners of the license outside Japan following the Sony purchase of Funimation, reported release dates and confirmed the voice cast of the English dub. The movie will release in English dubbed and subtitled versions, with the US release on August 19.

Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero is the first animated continuation of the Dragon Ball Super series since the end of the 131 episode anime and the Dragon Ball Super: Broly movie in 2018. Super Hero released in Japan June 11 and topped the weekend box office.

The plot of the film,

“The Red Ribbon Army was once destroyed by Son Goku. Individuals, who carry on its spirit, have created the ultimate Androids, Gamma 1 and Gamma 2. These two Androids call themselves “Super Heroes”. They start attacking Piccolo and Gohan… What is the New Red Ribbon Army’s objective? In the face of approaching danger, it is time to awaken, Super Hero!”

The international release dates according to Crunchyroll are:

August 18 in Australia, New Zealand, Mexico, Brazil, Peru, Chile, Argentina, Colombia, Central America, Ecuador, Bolivia, Uruguay, Paraguay

The original Japanese will feature the main voice cast from the anime, including veteran 85-year-old Son Goku voice actor Masako Nozawa, who has been the 1980s.

For the English dub of the movie, the voice cast is confirmed with the long-time names of Sean Schemmel, Christopher R. Sabat, and co reprising their roles from the anime series. One little surprise is that Charles Martinet (MARIO!!!) is joining the cast in the role of Magenta.

Although the Dragon Ball Super anime concluded in 2018, the official manga version of the series written and overseen by creator Akira Toriyama with Toyotarou on art has continued apace, with nearly 2 full arcs under its belt after the conclusion of the Tournament of Power saga arc that ended the anime.
